Summer Festival

On Sunday 24 July we unveiled a blue plaque commemorating John Lawson Johnson, the inventor of Bovril, who built Kingswood House in the form it is in today. This was the centrepiece of a Festival of stalls, and entertainment. For more information see http://FriendsofKingswoodHouse.blogspot.com.

Victorian Day 2011.

If you didn't come you missed a wonderful opportunity to see the members of the Rochester Victorian Society in all their finery, the Pearly Queen providing great entertainment, the members of the Metropolitan Police Museum in Victorian garb with their truncheons and handcuffs; our Crimean soldier with his new sword. As usual there were activites for the children, historical pictures - this time with a theme of transport; and lunch of pie and mash.
