Kingswood House

The Friends of Kingswood House Association

The Friends were set up in July 1998 to encourage the use of Kingswood House, both as a community centre and as a grade 2 listed building. They cooperate with the Summer Fair and London Open House Weekend. On occasion they have held envisioning exercises to help residents decide how they would like the building to be used, also a Victorian evening, tea dances, theatre and video-making classes for young people, and have enabled a tapestry to be made for the entrance hall depicting the House and three of the major characters associated with it.

Kingswood House takes a lot of maintenance from its basement to its crenellated battlements. It needs help with publicity, with improving the grounds and preventing vandalism. In all these things the Friends try to actively support the tiny band of staff who run the House and keep it functioning.
